Activities 4: Drinking Water for School Children (Khok Muang School) – Pilot Project

Back ground

Khok Muang School provides educational opportunities for children in a remote area in Thailand. The school participates in the “Wang Krai Kang Won Hua Hin’s Project”. Presently, there are 367 children age between 3-15 years old and 19 teachers under the care of the school. This school was set up in Amphoe Chumpare, Khon Kean province in Thailand. Because it’s far away from the down town (about 90 kilometers) it lack’s access to public utilities, particularly water. So the school usually suffers form lack of water during the drought period. The lack of water tank means that in the dry season the children do not have clean water to drink and they have to bring some water from their homes to drink and use in school.

  1. To provide the basic needs for a better life for all students.
  2. To avoid disease and ensure good health through the drinking of clean water.
  3. To provide the school with a tank to store waters for use at all times and resolve the lack of water in dry season.
